Finding Aliens?

Its been a while since we heard any signal from the outer space. The most promising being the "WoW!" signal which was a thought to be something similar to what the SETI astronomers have been looking for. After that there has been no record of any other signal even close to it. It was impossible to pin point the location of the source from where the signal might have come from.

But in next few years SETI's Allen Telescope Array located in Half Creek, California will be working with its full potential. It is being called as one of the biggest projects in SETI's history and has the highest chances of finding any alien life in the universe.

Here's a video if you don't know what I am talking about:-

Finding any intelligent alien species would change the way we think about this world. This would mean we have other earth like planet as a back up where we can go if when we screw this planet. Hopefully their planet is big enough to accumulate the population of both species. On the bright side, we would be introduced to new technology i.e. if they fly here that would give us the idea to build faster and better spaceships and also give us some information about the universe. Other than that, we really don't need to find another intelligent species. Actually, there seem to be more downs than ups.

Here is a list of reasons why we would be better off being alone in the universe.

1. Species exploration
----> I mean, isn't it obvious? We have been doing this on every living body on this planet -- explore their biology. I wouldn't be surprised if we wanted to do the same for another new species which is equally or more intelligent than us. Oh, and they would also want to the same to us.

2. Territory war
----> Ah, the good old territory war...every species on this planet is territorial -- birds, reptiles, cats and humans. Living with the same species is pain enough, sharing it with a new equally or highly intelligent species would drive us nuts.

3. Religious conflict
----> This is a biggie! If we find another intelligent alien life, it would kill all the religious beliefs and practices. It would mean that God didn't just create Adam n Eve but also Mark n Lora! (lol...) The religious community will freak out and they should totally try do everything they can to stop or scrutinize the plans of SETI to find alien life on other planets.

4. Problems between nations
----> This will be interesting to watch because who would decide who would talk to them. Its not like SETI ("USA") would have the total control. Other country's scientists would also want to have a look and chat with them.
Consider that they do come to visit us and land in Iran, would it mean that Iran would have the priority to "talk" with them?

5. They would probably laugh at our social, political systems
----> Finally, if we clear all these problems, they couldn't ignore our stupid system. Differencing between same species, killing each other because we don't believe in same stuff. We wouldn't want them to see the chaos and insanity that we have on Earth.

Conclusion? I don't have one! I believe there has to be at least 100's of other civilizations. We just need to find them.
